Fresh off international momentum, alt-rock-pop duo theGemini has announced their first-ever South African tour.
The About Last Nite Tour introduces the duo’s ethos: music as a space to let loose, be loud and embrace your inner wild thing. Stellenbosch audiences can expect high-energy performances alongside South African heavyweights, December Streets, aKing and James Deacon.

Formed in London by Romanian vocalist Stef Munteanu (Romanian X-Factor) and South African songwriter Morné Strampe, theGemini quickly evolved from stripped-back jam sessions into a fully realised studio project. Their debut material was written over the span of a decade, crafted and developed at AudioHaus in London and completed at Abbey Road Studios, mastered by Geoff Pesche (Dire Straits’ Brothers in Arms), resulting in a sound that balances raw intimacy and lyrical storytelling with cinematic scale. A concept album exploring love, temptation and the choices that shape what comes next.
Their debut single, “Let There Be Dragons”, is a nu-disco-inflected fever dream, positioning the band as a rising force with crossover appeal. The single hits the South African radio market as the first introduction to audiences here.
“South Africa is home, not just geographically, but creatively,” said Strampe. “These shows are where the story really begins.”
Added Munteanu: “theGemini isn’t about perfection – it’s about honesty in the moment. This tour is about letting go, being loud and choosing connection over comfort.”
The duo will take to the stage of the Daisy Jones Bar outside Stellenbosch on Wednesday 12 February. The doors open at 17:00, with theGemini performing at 19:00, followed by James Deacon (20:00), December Streets (21:00) and aKing (22:15).
