Applications for the Allan Gray Orbis Foundation’s 2023 High School Entrepreneurial Scholarship Programme are now open for Grade 6 learners countrywide to apply for this life-changing opportunity.
The high school scholarship aims to attract learners who are in financial need, have a curious entrepreneurial mindset, and possess the potential to excel academically. The programme offers Grade 6 learners the best entrepreneurial opportunity through quality education at a top achieving South African partner high school.
Application criteria:
V Applicants must be in Grade 6 this year (2022) to apply.V Applicants cannot be older than 12 years of age and not younger than 11 years of age in Grade 6 (2022).V Applicants must obtain a minimum of 70% for English and mathematics in Grade 5 and 6.V Applicants must obtain a minimum overall average of 70% average for all subjects in Grade 5 and 6.V Indication of entrepreneurial flair and passion, and belief in the future of our country.V Applicants must demonstrate financial need. V Applicants must be South African citizens.
Application process:
V Submit a hard copy of the application form and supporting documents via post, or apply online. V Successful applicants will be required to write the foundation exam in mathematics and English for Grade 6. After the foundation exam, successful candidates will be invited for interviews.V Recommended candidates will be invited to the placement schools for interviews.V Candidates whose recommendations are approved by the placement schools will be awarded the scholarship.V Once the scholarship is awarded, the foundation, placement school and the scholar’s custodian will sign a memorandum of agreement.
