Learners at St Vincent RC Primary School in Koelenhof have a brand-new library and a computer room with 40 computers, where they can do assignments.

An excited Sister Lucie Saul, the school principal, says the new facilities mean a lot to the school. “A lot of our children live on the surrounding farms and don’t have the means to get to town,” she said. “I’m excited to see how they develop from here onwards and to just have fun. If you can read and write you can achieve a lot.”

Sister Lucie, who has been at the school for 16 years, says the children are also looking forward to using the new facilities, describing it as “a dream come true”.

“It is a great achievement, and we believe this centre will help us grow,” she said.

Twenty of the computers were sponsored by Nedbank, and the other 20 by the Western Cape Education Department. The library was also supported by the local municipality.
