Ava Bouwer, a talented young ballerina from Bridge House School, has been selected to perform in the Cape Town City Ballet’s highly anticipated production of The Nutcrackerthis festive season. Bouwer was one of 400 children who auditioned for the opportunity to dance alongside the professional dancers of this renowned ballet company. After making it through the first round she made it through to the second round of auditions, where she was chosen to play the role of an angel in the 2024 season of The Nutcracker. She was also featured on Expresso, the SABC 3morning show, last week and performed an extract from the upcoming production, which runs at Artscape Theatre, Cape Town from Friday 13 to Sunday 29 December, promising a spectacular experience for audiences of all ages. With its enchanting music, stunning choreography and festive spirit,The Nutcracker is a must-see highlight of the season, and Bouwer is excited to be part of the magical performance.
