Entries are now open for the 19th edition of the FNB Sauvignon Blanc SA Top 10, South Africa’s only competition dedicated exclusively to sauvignon blanc.
Presented by Sauvignon Blanc South Africa in partnership with title partner FNB and platinum partner Ever Solutions, the prestigious competition offers producers a focused platform to showcase the quality and diversity of local sauvignon blanc wines.
Dr Carien Coetzee, accomplished oenologist and experienced judge, steps in as the new panel convenor. “This competition showcases the full depth and diversity of South African sauvignon blanc,” says Coetzee, noting that past winners have experienced significant commercial benefits, enhanced reputation and improved price positioning.
The judging panel includes Dr Winifred Bowman (Cape Wine Master), Morgan Steyn, Praisy Dlamini, Juandre Bruwer, and protégée judges Liezl Richards and Lauren Segers-Jewell. Judging will take place at Bontevlei in Stellenbosch from Tuesday 26 to Thursday 28 August. Twenty finalists will be announced in September, with the top 10 revealed at an awards event on Wednesday 15 October.
Producers can enter online at sauvignonblanc.com/top10-entry before 12 August, with entry fees of R1 600 for members and R2 100 for non-members. Late entries will be accepted until Tuesday 19 August at a higher fee.
