A training ride will be held at Somerbosch Wines on the R44 in preparation for the 10th annual Savanna Origin of Trails MTB Experience, which takes place in Stellenbosch on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 November.

Entrants of the latter event are invited to join the event organisers for the fun training ride this Saturday (4 November).

It follows a similar preparation ride held in Durbanville recently.

Riders can look forward to a wealth of non-technical single track, sweeping vineyard roads and some sandy sections, with routes designed to accommodate riders of all skill levels.

The elevation is about 300 m and riders can choose to tackle the notorious Faure Drop, which represents the most technical segment of the route.

The distance is 20 to 25 km, but riders have the option to ride further.

Prior to the start of the ride, participants will receive a mouth-watering breakfast box and a steaming cup of coffee courtesy of Somerbosch Bistro and Savanna.

Following an exhilarating morning on the trails, they will get to enjoy an ice-cold Savanna.

Breakfast will be served at 07:00 and the ride starts at 08:00.

The event is open to all entrants of this year’s Savanna Origin of Trails MTB Experience, sponsors and invited guests.
