Mariè Stander and art students of the Mariè Stander School of Art celebrated a wonderfully successful evening at their 20th Charity Art Auction, which was held at the beautiful Muratie Wine Estate in Stellenbosch on the 22 of March.

The function was extremely well attended and characterised as an evening of unconditional giving. Beautiful art, lovely food by Red Pepper Catering, live music by The Kitchen Jamming Blues Band and the best wines from the Stellenbosch region at Muratie kept bidders entertained.

The art was created by Mariè Stander and her students, to be auctioned for the school charity, which sponsors children and people in need in and around Stellenbosch.

Under the hammer of the auctioneer Carl Malherbe, every artwork was sold, and this record has been kept since the start of the auction in 2001.

“After two years of struggle with the pandemic and the growing need of underprivileged people becoming more extreme by the day,” Stander said, “we are thrilled, blessed and very grateful with the successful outcome of this auction. Now we have enough funding to help all our regular charities and schools that we always sponsor. Thank you for all the unconditional support from our buyers, sponsors and my students.”
