A total of 49 athletes from Stellenbosch Gymnastics and two of the club’s coaches have qualified to represent the Western Cape at the South African National Gymnastics Championships in Pretoria.
This year marks a special milestone for the club in it’s 11 years of existence, as it is the most gymnasts who have qualified for the competition, which is held from Thursday 2 to Thursday 9 October. Their achievement is the result of many hours of hard work, dedication, and passion for the sport.
“We are incredibly proud of our gymnasts who will be competing at nationals,” the club’s coaches said in a statement. “Their determination and teamwork have brought them this far, and we are excited to see them showcase their talent among the best in the country.”
Stellenbosch Gymnastics, based at The Shed at Spier Wine Farm, wishes all the athletes the very best of luck at the championships and looks forward to celebrating their performances upon their return.
