Executive Mayor of the Stellenbosch Municipality Adv Gesie van Deventer this week celebrated the outstanding achievement of the municipality’s Waste Management Team, who took second place in the Municipal Waste Management Recognition Awards this week.
The award was bestowed on it by the Ministry of Local Government: Environmental Affairs & Development Planning for its Integrated Waste Management Recognition Programme.
It aims to share best practices and innovation in integrated waste management throughout the Western Cape, while also encouraging municipalities to be proactive in their approach to addressing waste management challenges.
Van Deventer congratulated the municipal Waste Management Team and thanked them sincerely for their efforts to make the Stellenbosch municipal area a truly green and sustainable valley.
