Start the festive season on a high note with the annual Sunset Carols event at Middelvlei on Sunday 1 December from 18:15. A child’s dream, Middelvlei is set on a working farm where the young ones can run around freely on the sprawling lawn, get to know the farm animals or participate in some fun traditional games. This allows for the older generation to sit back and relax while sipping on a glass of Middelvlei wine. The bonus of a breathtaking Stellenbosch sunset makes theevening so much more special. As per tradition, Father Christmas will make a special guest appearance to hand-out gifts to the young ones, and the evening concludes with everyone joining in to sing along to Christmas carols. The evening, at a cost of R450 per couple, includes a Boerebraai-inspired tapas platter with, among other things, sweetcorn fritters with a sweet chilli dipping sauce, mini-braaibroodjies, chicken kebabs and boerewors sosaties. Dessert is an optional extra. The children will get to tuck into a yummy snack box of a boerie, chips, a juice box and some sweets at a cost of R100 per child under age 12.
