Khayamandi: Award-winning musician Melorie Jane will perform at Amazink at 19:00. The performance forms part of a series of concerts to launch her new album, Hold the Stars, a fusion of distinct South African jazz influences, evoking a sense of home, while also traversing the realms of film music and contemporary jazz. Artists featured on Hold the Stars include Melorie Jane on piano and vocals, Ntsikelelo Jack Mcwabe (trumpet), saxophonist Lehlohonolo Ntsoko, Gilbert Sithole (bass) and Thato Tswai (drums). Franschhoek: The annual Shiraz & Charcuterie Festival takes place at Anthonij Rupert Wyne from 11:00 to 16:00. Enthusiasts of the varietal can indulge in wines from some of the country’s top shiraz and syrah producers, while also enjoying platters of charcuterie and listening to laid- back live music of Newton & Co. A range of artisanal cheeses will also feature. There will also be a bounty of olives and all things tapas. Stellenbosch: Acclaimed jazz musician Lionel Beukes will perform at the Muratie Farm Kitchen restaurantfrom 12:30 to 16:30. The talented muso plays the double bass, electric bass and is a vocalist, and his repertoire includes legendary jazz standards by Nat King Cole, Louis Armstrong and Frank Sinatra. Stellenbosch: A Winemaker’s Evening will be held at Le Grand Domaine Enoteca with winemaker Debbie Thompson. Well-known musician Albert Frost will add extra spice to the evening with his melodious tunes.
