The top-notch quality of locally-produced olive oil was once again validated at the Absa Top 10 Olive Oil Awards which, this year, was held at the stunning Grande Roche estate in Paarl on Wednesday 16 October.
Two local oils were featured on the prestigious list at the event, which is the highlight of South Africa’s olive-oil industry calendar. Each year, following the SA Olive Awards, the top-scoring gold winners undergo a further round of blind tasting, of which the 10 highest-ranking Extra Virgin Olive Oils (EVOOs) are chosen for the highly coveted Absa Top 10 Olive Oil Awards.

- Kleinbergskloof: Kleinbergskloof Family Reserve Medium;
- Rio Largo Olive Estate: Rio Largo Premium (White Label) Medium;
- Morgenster Estate: Morgenster Don Carlo Medium;
- “Ouma Se Huis” Boutique Olive Estate: Charisma 2 Delicate; and
- Lapithos Olive Growers: Lapithos Estate Mission Medium
