The Cape’s best businesses, services and individuals will once again be honoured with the annual Kfm 94.5 Best of the Cape Awards, powered by YOCO.
Following hundreds of nominations in the 30 categories, the finalists were announced on-air to much fanfare and pompous on Tuesday (23 July). Five businesses in the greater Stellenbosch area also feature among the province’s best.
In the Best Pet-friendly Restaurant category St BeerYard at Bellevue Estate along Bottelary Road features among the finalists, while Babylonstoren in Franschhoek is a finalist in the Best Wine Farm Experience category. The Winelands Light Railway in Stellenbosch is vying for the title of Best Kids Party Spot, while Skêr Barber Co. in Stellenbosch hopes to win the award for the Cape’s Best Barber. The Meeting Place in Stellenbosch is also a finalist in the Best Breakfast Spot category.
The announcement of this year’s Best of the Cape Awards finalists followed a nomination period, where Kfm 94.5’s listeners were implored to nominate their favourite spots, services, clubs, and individuals in the province from Tuesday 2 July. After nominations closed at midnight on Friday 12 July the judges had the arduous task of selecting the five finalists in each of the 30 categories to do battle for the prestigious awards.
Now it is up to the public to vote for the entity they believe deserves to be crowned the Cape’s best. Online voting opened on Wednesday 24 July and closes at 19:00 on Thursday 1 August. The winners will be announce live on-air on Thursday 15 August.
