Schools in Stellenbosch are invited to nominate learners to benefit from the Journey of Hope Walk this Saturday (30 August), from 09:00 to 15:00, at Cannons Creek Independent School in Pinelands.
“This event is organised by Samaritan’s Feet SA and is dedicated to providing shoes and socks to 50 000 underprivileged children, paving the way for their education and a promising future. The first event was held last year and was a resounding success,” said Dr Marietta Hopley, chairperson of Pinelands Community Policing Fourm.
Participants of all kinds are welcome to join the 4 km walk along the Pinelands Canal, representing Health, Opportunity, Peace and Education (HOPE). Tickets are R45 per person, and each one purchased directly supports a child’s journey towards a brighter future, equipping them with essential resources and confidence. Be a beacon of HOPE and join to create lasting opportunities for these children.
Samaritan’s Feet SA, an NGO based 9in Stellenbosch, encourages the nomination of schools in communities where children require these basic necessities, with plans for future distributions and engagement with the children to inspire them to pursue a better future.
“During the distributions there will be one-on-one encounters with each recipient, washing their feet, blessing them with a new pair of shoes and socks, and giving them a message of HOPE,” Hopley said.
