The annual e’Bosch School Choir Festivals once again brought harmony, hope, and youthful talent to the Ida’s Valley Primary School hall, with two inspiring evenings of music that united learners from schools across Stellenbosch.
The High School Choir Festival, held on Thursday 21 August, featured standout performances by Cloetesville High, Klapmuts Secondary, Lückhoff High, Stellenzicht High, and Paul Roos Gymnasium.
The evening concluded with a powerful joint performance of “United Light”, a choral anthem composed for the event by local musician Xander Kritzinger. The song captured the festival’s spirit of unity and shared purpose among the town’s youth.

On Thursday 18 September, the Primary School Choir Festival showcased vibrant performances from Cloetesville, Ida’s Valley, Klapmuts, Simondium, Joostenberg, Dalubuhle, and twelve other schools. Each choir cluster brought a unique musical selection, celebrating cultural diversity and community pride.
“These festivals are about more than music,” said John Frans, project manager of the e’Bosch School Choir Festivals. “They’re about building bridges between schools, celebrating our shared heritage, and giving our youth a platform to shine.”
Parents, teachers and community from across Stellenbosch attended both events, which form part of the broader e’Bosch Heritage Project.
UNITING COMMUNITIES
Founded in 2011, the organisation aims to address social exclusion and foster cohesion by celebrating local heritage and creating inclusive spaces.
Through these choir festivals e’Bosch continues its mission to unite communities, uplift young voices, and promote a vision of shared identity and belonging.
